IIMR and Flipkart signed a deal to give FPOs and SHGs access to markets.

The Indian Institute of Millets Research (IIMR) and Flipkart have signed a deal that will give Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) access to markets.

Flipkart will work with these communities to help them understand the quality, pricing, and licenses they need to be a part of the FPO ecosystem. This will be done through online and in-person training and capacity-building programs.

The IIMR will help the FPOs and SHGs get the infrastructure and permissions they need to move forward with this partnership.

Also, WE HUB and NutriHub are working together to help women entrepreneurs in the agriculture business.

In a statement released on Friday, C V Ratnavathi, Director of IIMR, said, “Through our partnership with Flipkart, we hope to improve the operations of small and marginal farmers and FPOs by sharpening their skills and knowledge.”

Vice President of Flipkart Smrithi Ravichandran said that the company has taught over 10,000 farmers across the country about how to make sure their products are safe and of good quality.
