Formation of Committee on MSP will take place after five states elections
In response to a supplementary question during Question Hour, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and President ICAR Shri Narendra Singh Tomar stated that the government had written to the Election Commission in anticipation of assembly elections in five states. The minister stated that the formation of the Committee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) is being considered by the ministry and will take place after the elections.
‘The entire country is aware that the prime minister has announced the formation of a committee to ensure the effectiveness and transparency of crop diversification, natural farming, and MSP.

He stated that because the elections are underway, the government has written to the Election Commission in anticipation of guidance.
‘The EC’s response has arrived. It has stated that the committee will be formed following the conclusion of the elections’ said the minister.
