On Friday, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar stated that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops would be maintained and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has formed a committee to improve the mechanism’s effectiveness and transparency.
When asked about the country’s fertilizer deficit, the minister stated that farmers were receiving plenty of supplies and would continue to do so.
‘Crop MSP was already in place, and it will be in the coming days. In addition, the prime minister has set up a committee to make it more effective and transparent’ he told reporters here.
‘Even Congressmen don’t believe in Rahul Gandhi’s claims,’ he said in response to a question about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s comments on the farm issue.
In response to claims that the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was building its own police force, the minister stated he was unaware of the reports but wondered how a political party could create its own ‘police force.’
