Faarms signed MOU with ICAR-IARI to deliver agri inputs to farmers interior on time

Faarms entered into an MOU with ICAR-IARI to deliver Agri inputs to farmers interiors on time.

Agritech startup Faarms has signed an MoU with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) – Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) – PUSA to deliver quality seeds and other Agri inputs to the farming community at their doorstep interior on time.

The MoU was signed by the COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Faarms, Alok Duggal, and the Director of ICAR, Dr. A K Singh, as well as joint directors, research heads, and other PUSA HODs.

According to a statement issued by the company, ‘Farmers will gain access to new seed varieties developed at ICAR-IARI, as well as first-hand knowledge from top scientists, through this collaborative efforts.’

A K Singh, the Director of ICAR said, ‘It is commendable how successful Faarms has been in understanding the true challenges of farmers and developing solutions. This is what inspired us to work with Faarms, With this new arrangement, we have been developing seeds with new traits at our research institute, which is accessible to farmers at their doorstep.’

Faarms co-founders Taranbir Singh and Alok Duggal have thanked and said that ‘ICAR – IARI, PUSA for their support in this mission to build a transparent and robust e-commerce marketplace for all Agri inputs that will double farmers’ income by 2024.’

Single Point of Contact

Faarms aims to be India’s single-point e-commerce platform for all farming-related inputs such as seeds, agrochemicals, and animal feed.

Faarms currently connects eight lakh farmers in 33,000+ villages across Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh. Recently, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).

It will have access to its warehouses across India, allowing the company to deliver Agri in[puts such as seeds, agrochemicals, biofertilizers, and poultry and cattle feed to farmers in the interior on time.
