Death toll to 18 in Gujarat, 38 injured, and 1,300 homes damaged due to unseasonal rain
The death toll from unseasonal rains and thunderstorms in Gujarat has risen to 18, according to government sources on Wednesday, after four more people lost their lives in rain-related incidents across the state.

Three of the recent deaths occurred on May 6 in the districts of Ahmedabad, Anand, and Chhota Udepur, where victims were killed by falling trees uprooted by strong winds. Another person died in Dahod after a wall collapsed.
In addition to the 18 fatalities, 38 people have been injured in various rain-related incidents. Since the thunderstorms began on May 4, a total of 117 cattle have died. The heavy rains have also caused damage to more than 1,300 homes, both kutcha (mud) and pucca (brick or concrete), either partially or completely.
