A delegation from Australia will travel to India to deepen relations in the agricultural and other sectors.

This week, an Australian corporate delegation of 106 people is visiting India to strengthen partnerships in agriculture, vital minerals, infrastructure, digital health, and education. The visit coincides with the entry into force of the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA).

This trip is all about commercial partnerships and getting businesses to start communicating. Minerals used in EVs and medical devices are of particular importance to India, which has created production-linked incentive packages for these industries.

‘Australia excels at essential resource discovery, extraction, production, and processing, and India is expanding its manufacturing capacity. As a result, we can all work together to improve supply chain resilience,’ Eaton stated.

The ECTA, agreed in April, is expected to enter into force this year when both countries’ domestic and parliamentary processes are completed.
