Rubber Board organizing a three-day exhibition on the history of rubber
In conjunction with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Rubber Act 1947, the Rubber Board is organizing a three-day exhibition on the history of rubber and the achievements of the Rubber Board in Kottayam from April 17 to 19.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by M. Vasanthageshan, Executive Director of the Board. Sawar Dhanania, Chairman of the Rubber Board, will launch the Malayalam book ‘Rubber History’ written by Vinoth Thomas, Rubber Board Scientist.
The exhibition’s main attraction will be the history of rubber, the development of the rubber sector, and the accomplishments of the rubber board, which will be spread across more than 40 stalls. In the stalls, various types of rubber products and manufacturing methods are displayed.
There are endless possibilities
The exhibition’s goal is to show how versatile natural rubber is and how many applications it can serve. At the exhibition center, there is also a full-body statue of an elephant made entirely of natural rubber. There will be an exhibition and marketing of rubber products such as exercise bands with high export potential, natural rubber foams, medical and household gloves, and so on.
The Rubber Board was established on April 18, 1947, with the enactment of the Rubber Act, and is now celebrating its 75th year of existence for the development of rubber plantations and product manufacturing in the country through various activities.
