ISEC-ADRTC hosting III National Conference of Agro-Economic Research
The Agricultural Development and Rural Transformation Centre (ADRTC) is hosting the “III National Conference “Driving Agriculture Growth: Contemporary Issues and Future Perspectives” from January 23–25, 2024, at its campus Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bengaluru.
The conference includes research paper presentations, round-table discussions, invited lectures, and a field visit. The main purpose of the conference is to disseminate the results of the studies undertaken by the Agro-Economic Research Centres and Units (AERC/Us), It is made compulsory for the AERC/AERUs to contribute to and participate in the conference.
However, we have also invited and accepted selected research papers relevant to the theme from renowned academicians and researchers working or practicing in the area of agriculture and allied sectors, said Dr. Ramappa K. B., Professor and Head, ADRTC – ISEC.
The announced research paper titles for the conference fall under the following sub-themes:
- Bridging the Agro-Economic Divide: Farmers’ Well-being and Policy Solutions
- From Ports to Plates: Tracing the Journey of agricultural imports and exports in India’
- Plate and Pantry: Changing Consumption Patterns,
- Pulses, Production, and Trade: An Exploration of Self-Sufficiency’
- Innovation in Agriculture Mechanization: Skill Gaps and Labor-Saving Technologies.
Thus, the participants in the conference include representatives of the Department of Agriculture from different States & UTs and agricultural experts from national and international institutes such as ICAR, SAUs, NABARD, IFPRI, ICRISAT, NCAP, etc., to get their feedback and directions for future potential research areas in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Marketing, Agribusiness, and Monitoring & Evaluation by the AERC network.
Besides, this conference is an appropriate platform to showcase the key results of the AERC Network of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, added Dr. Ramappa KB.
