Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar stressed on Saturday the importance of ensuring the quality of agricultural produce in order for farmers to receive fair prices.
According to an official statement, the minister was speaking at the ICAR Society’s 93rd Annual General Meeting in this city.
Tomar stated that the Modi government is dedicated to improving Indian agriculture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always encouraged the country’s scientists and farmers to compete on a global scale, he said.
‘This has resulted in a steady increase in agricultural product exports from India,’ he said. According to the agriculture minister, the prime minister’s top priority has always been to improve the quality of agricultural products.
Tomar emphasised the ICAR’s vital role in achieving food and nutritional security in the country through research and technology development.
He emphasised that India’s record production of food grains and horticultural products has made the country self-sufficient in meeting not only domestic demands but also exports.
‘In many agricultural products, India ranks first or second in the world, and we aim to establish the quality of our products as well as our credibility as a trusted brand around the world,’ Tomar said.
The Union Minister stated that quality is critical for farmers to receive fair prices for their products.
