Vegetable Costs Normal in Delhi- NCR as trucks bypass protesters

Vegetable prices in national capital (Delhi) have slipped down to normal levels after a surge blockage on highways by protesting farmers. Farmers and transporters have found out different routes, helping supplies resume to regular operationstated, a member of Delhi’s Azadpur mandi.

“Though there was an increase in prices of peas, potato and beans on Friday-Saturday are now stable, due to regular supplies from other neighboring states. The winter vegetables crops such as spinach, fenugreek, carrot and cabbage inflow into market is high as the harvest is at high swing. Hence, prices have not risen yet. We are anticipating prices to fall once the protest is withdrawn or the roads are cleared,” stated Malhotra, a member of Delhi’s Azadpur mandi.
