Telangana farmers have joined hands to  support ongoing protest of farmers in national capital. Farmers’ unions and non-governmental organisations together have come together and held a few dharnas and rasta rokos in Hyderabad, ever since the protest began in Punjab and Haryana last week.

They organised rasta rokos in several parts of the State, including in Hyderabad, on the RTC Cross roads, demanding the Centre to revoke the THREE Agricultural Acts. The police arrested the protesters and released them later.

“The govt introduced and passed these bills in Parliament in an unconstitutional way. These three Acts will harm the interests of the farmers.” a member from Telangana Rythu Sangham (TRS) stated.

“Lakhs and lakhs of farmers are on the road protesting for the interest of farming community in the capital. The Government is using force to diffuse the protesting farmers.” he stated.

Announcing unity with the Delhi protesters, the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) held a day-long dharna at the Dharna Chowk close to Indira Park two days ago.

All India Kisan Mazdoor Sabha (AIKMS), president, Vemulapalli Venkatramaiah alleged that the three Acts would make farmers suffer heavily. While addressing the dharna, he further mentioned that “The minimum support prices (MSP) are hardly close to meet the actual cost of crop production. If the MSP system goes, they would end up only in making losses.”
