The sowing of winter crops exceeded the previous year by 10 per cent, leading to a 28 per cent improvement in the area under pulse, based on the Ministry of Agriculture.
Last week, good rainfall in northern India created optimum soil conditions for the sowing of wheat and mustard crops. The official mentioned that the area under pulse has increased from 6.45 million hectares in the last 12 months to 8.25 million hectares.
“The Ministry of Agriculture is focusing to increase the graph in the output of rubi pulse crops. The results are seen as farmers have sown pulses in massive areas. We count on bumper crop as the storage of water in 123 main reservoirs is 93% of living storage,” the official said.
