Raichur district receiving pre-monsoon sparked agri activity in rural
The drought-prone Raichur district has been receiving pre-monsoon rains, which have sparked agricultural activity in rural areas, with farmers tilling their fields.
The district received more rain than normal, with 26.5 mm in 72 hours compared to an average of 1.9 mm. Farmers can expect a high yield if the district continues to receive rain.

Cereals will take up 2,34,494 hectares of the 5,56,276 hectares, followed by pulses (1,46,158 hectares), oil seeds (21,528 hectares), and commercial crops (1,54,096 hectares). The goal is to grow 1,85,322 hectares of paddy, 1,45,890 hectares of red gram, and 19,562 hectares of sunflower.

Farmers who lost crops due to drought are hoping for a good monsoon to help them recover their losses from last year.
Deputy Commissioner L. Chandrasekhar Naik stated that Agriculture Department officers have been instructed to keep a stock of the necessary sowing seeds and fertilizers for distribution to farmers during the monsoon.
