Poultry firms to hold consumption-boosting campaign from Nov 16 to18
On the day before National Chicken Day, people who sell chicken in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and West Bengal are holding events and campaigns to get more people to eat chicken.
The Karnataka Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association (KPFBA) declared November 16 as ‘National Chicken Day’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of BV Rao, known as the ‘Father of Indian Poultry.’
From November 16 to 18, chicken groups all over the country will hold a variety of events, campaigns, consumer offers, and other activities to get more people to eat chicken.
Sushanth B Rai, President of the KPFBA, stated that various activities had been planned over three days, during which members of the association would offer discounts and run promotions on chicken goods.
There will be a 10% discount on poultry purchases at more than 200 shops in Karnataka. According to the KPFBA President, per capita, chicken consumption in India is low at 3.5 kg, while it is 63 kg in Malaysia and 58 kg in the United States.
As part of the campaign, chicken companies such as Venkateshwara Hatcheries’ ‘Vencob Chicken,’ Nandu’s, Nutri Feeds and Farms Pvt Ltd’s ‘Nutri Fresh Chicken,’ and others are offering discounts on poultry items.
He said that the KPFBA has been working hard for 30 years to help poultry breeders and farmers. In the next few years, they want to greatly increase the amount of food each person eats.
