Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh flagged off a one-metric-tonne shipment of Organic Black Rice to Europe on Thursday.
According to the Chief Minister, the shipment is being sent through the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited (NERAMAC) in collaboration with the state Department of Agriculture.

‘This variety of rice has a GI tag,’ he added. I would like to thank the Centre for assisting farmers in exporting their products. Black rice has a high vitamin and mineral content, as well as gluten-free and antioxidant properties.’
‘Previously, we sent 1500 MT of black rice to other states in the country,’ he added.
