The main reason many people turn vegan is their empathy for animals : Survey

The main reason many people will become vegan in 2022 is that they care about animals, says the Veganuary Official Survey 2022. Veganuary is a non-profit organization that works all over the world to get people to try being vegan.

In a statement, the group said that Veganuary’s 2022 campaign had led more than 6.2 million people to become vegan. It said that 6,29,351 people from more than 220 countries signed up for Veganuary 2022, including more than 65,000 people from India. These people will get 31 days of support emails, social media encouragement, and other helpful resources to help them keep their resolution. Plans to launch and expand product categories, build a senior management team, and strengthen its expert channel network.

Prashanth Vishwanath, Country Head, India, Veganuary, used the survey results to say that 44% of people joined the cause because they cared about animals, 21% joined for health reasons, and 19% joined because they cared about the environment. About 7% of people went vegan for a change, a challenge, or because they were interested.

87% of Veganuary 2022 participants were sent the survey, and only 6% of them filled it out (32,522 responses).

Improvement in energy levels

More than half of the people who answered the survey have been able to stick to a vegan diet. The statement said that about 49% of the participants saw big changes in their energy, 48% in their mood, 39% in their skin, and 37% in their body weight.

In the next two years, the Indian plant-based meat market is expected to grow to $500 million.

Prashanth Vishwanath said that 74% of the people who took the survey said they were willing to cut their use of animal products by at least 50% and that 76% were very likely to try a vegan diet in the future. He also said that 98% of people who took part in Veganuary would tell a friend or family member about it.

The goal of Veganuary is to get people to try being vegan and to help them do so. It also wants to change the way companies do business and start a global movement for compassionate food choices. This will help end animal farming, protect the environment, and make people healthier, according to a statement.
