Agrawal stated that the Tanzanian Minister of Agriculture, Hussein Mohamed Bashe, has set the objectives of growth in the production and profitability of the agriculture sector and recognizes the need for implementation of mechanization of small farms, making available improved seeds, and developing agri-entrepreneurs.
The MoU covers a data-driven approach to small farm mechanization, improved seeds for domestic and export markets, a set of practices, increased farmer income, agri-entrepreneur development, digital extension services, and farmer, mechanic, agri-entrepreneur, and extension officer training. “This perfectly leverages our strength in manufacturing, seeds R&D and training,” Agrawal stated.
“We will collaborate with various departments of Tanzania’s Ministry of Agriculture to provide appropriate and cost-effective solutions to improve the agricultural ecosystem. We will also export machinery and breeder seeds from India. We will hire locally for machinery installation, demonstration, and repairs. Similarly, we will use local resources for seed multiplication, processing, and packaging,” Agrawal stated.
