GKVK Krishi Mela 2022, kick starts today with the theme ‘agricultural start-ups’
The focus of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) exhibition will be ‘agricultural start-ups.’ The Gandhi Vignana Krishi Kendra (GKVK) campus in Yelahanka, Bangalore, will host this year’s Krishi Mela from November 3 to 6.
The theme of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) expo will be agricultural start-ups. The annual fair is held to provide awareness of the most recent technological breakthroughs, new crops, and changing climatic circumstances.
‘2022, mela theme is agricultural start-ups.’ ‘We want more young people, entrepreneurs, and start-ups to get involved in agriculture,’ stated K.C. Narayana Swamy, Vice Chancellor of UAS. This year will see the release of 38 agricultural innovations, in addition to nine new crop varieties. New crops include paddy types that may be harvested in 120 to 125 days, hybrid maize, short-duration field bean varieties, and others.
There will also be expert presentations on the advantages of integrated crop patterns for avoiding monocropping. Agricultural achievers will also be recognized in three categories: state, district, and taluk.
This year, the mela will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 6 p.m., with an estimated 15,000 people attending each day. The mela will also be broadcast live on YouTube. (live link will be added soon.)
