The Southern States Agriculture and Allied Sectors Conference will be held here on September 18. Organised by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (DA&FW), the conference will review progress on the Digital Agriculture Mission (DAM), the Farmers’ Registry, and the Framework for Fertiliser Sale (FFS).

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan and agriculture ministers from the southern states will take part in the daylong conference.

The Telangana government will present ‘Rythu Nestham’, a farmer-centric extension system, while the Andhra Pradesh government will showcase its climate change mitigation measures.

The conference will also take stock of progress in the Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses, the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF), and the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP).

“It will also discuss spurious pesticides and fertilizers, and the issue of diversion of fertilizers to the black market,” a state government official said.
