GKVK 7th Series, 2001 batch graduates Celebrates Silver Jubilee

The campus memories of the GKVK 7th Series of Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing and Agricultural Engineering students came together once again as around 110 former classmate friends gathered on August 8 and 9, 2026, to celebrate their Silver Jubilee, Sneha Chiranthana.

Getting ready for photo session

The two-day celebration, aptly reflecting the spirit of friendship and togetherness, brought together classmates who had travelled from different parts of India and even from abroad. After 25 years, the reunion provided a rare opportunity for old friends to meet face-to-face, reconnect, share stories and relive the memorable days of their student life.

A Reunion Beyond Borders

The Silver Jubilee celebration was more than just an event on a calendar. It was a reunion of friends whose lives had taken them in different directions over the past 25 years.

From different cities and states across the country, and from overseas, classmates made their way to Bengaluru to be part of the special occasion. For many, the journey back was not merely a physical one, it was a return to friendships, youthful memories and a chapter of life that had shaped who they became.

The atmosphere at Kaadgal Resort was filled with excitement, laughter and nostalgia as old friends greeted one another after years apart. Conversations quickly moved from present-day lives to memories of college days, classmates, teachers, hostel life and the countless experiences they had shared.

Day One: Memories, Introductions and Celebration

The first day of the celebration began with the soulful rendition of the “Negila Yogi” song, followed by a respectful moment of silence in remembrance of friends who are no longer with them. This was followed by a group photo session, capturing the heartwarming reunion of the GKVK 7th Series as they came together after 25 years.

This was followed by a brief personal introduction session, giving friends an opportunity to share what they had been doing since their college days. The introductions became a fascinating reflection of the diverse journeys taken by the batch over the years.

Some had remained connected with agriculture and allied sectors, while others had ventured into business, government service, research, technology and other professions. Despite the different paths they had taken, the bond of their student days remained remarkably strong.

As the day progressed, the formal atmosphere gave way to pure celebration.

The poolside party became one of the major highlights of the first day. Music, dance and songs filled the evening, with participants enthusiastically joining in the celebrations. Age seemed to disappear for a while as classmates danced, sang and laughed together, recreating the carefree spirit of their younger days.

The resort echoed with laughter and music as old friends celebrated not only 25 years since their student days but also the enduring friendships that had survived the passage of time.

Day Two: Trekking, Adventure and Togetherness

The second day brought a change of pace, with the group heading out for a trek to a nearby hill.

The trekking activity added an element of adventure and provided another opportunity for friends to spend time together away from the formalities of the celebration.

Walking together, sharing jokes, encouraging one another and enjoying the natural surroundings created yet another set of memories for the group. The trek symbolised the spirit of the reunion itself—different individuals walking different paths yet coming together once again on a common journey.

Sneha Chiranthana: A Celebration of Friendship

The event concluded with a summary of “Sneha Chiranthana – The 7the series Silver Jubilee Celebration”, presented by one of their classmates, Mr. Shiromani and Mr. Kiran Kumar.

25 Years Later, The Bond Remains

The GKVK 7th Series Silver Jubilee was ultimately not just about marking 25 years. It was about celebrating friendship, memories, shared experiences and the journey of life.

For two days, the classmate friends temporarily stepped away from their busy professional and personal lives and returned to the spirit of their youth. The laughter, songs, photographs, trekking, conversations and countless shared memories made the celebration a memorable chapter in the story of the GKVK 7th Series. The celebration came to an end with vote of thanks by Mrs. Kusuma BK.

The event was concluded with one message stood out clearly: time may change people, professions and places, but classmates’ bondage can remain timeless.
