Agri-Unifest History
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) came up with the idea for and started the All India Inter-Agricultural Universities Youth Festival in 1999–2000. They did this with the goal of integrating Indian agriculture by connecting India’s different cultures, bringing out the talents of young people in Agricultural Universities, and showing the beauty of India’s many different cultures.
Every year, both the state and central agricultural universities come together to celebrate this festival. Over 2,000 talented young people from all over the country would come to the prestigious Agri-Unifest, a five-day cultural extravaganza.
Students from 74 State Agricultural Universities, Deemed Universities, and Central Universities show off their talents in music, dance, literature, theatre, and fine arts events. The Agri-Unifest is known for its unique mix of many different cultures.
The 21st Agri-Unifest is being held for the third time in 24 years at the University of Agricultural Sciences in Bangalore. This is the first Agricultural University in the state of Karnataka.
