Focus spices
Most of the focus will be on growing chilli, turmeric, pepper, and ginger, as these are crops that farmers in the central and northeastern districts of Karnataka already grow.
Particularly, a lot of the Byadagi chili, which has a label saying it has a geographical indication, is grown in these areas. The area is also home to a large pepper and ajwain industry, which all make a big difference to the local economy.
The Spices Board India is in charge of the meeting, which has become an important part of the Commerce Ministry’s plan to encourage exports. It is expected that over two hundred exporters, dealers, and farmers will attend the event.
