The National Bulk Handling Corporation (NBHC) announced the launch of its electronic mobile-enabled application ‘Krishi Setu’ on Thursday, a one-stop solution in the post-harvest Agri value chain that provides a seamless user experience and reduces operational inconveniences in trade execution through end-to-end digitalized processes.
NBHC created this advanced e-marketplace for agri-commodities, which uses disintermediation to connect buyers and sellers electronically across the country and allows hassle-free transactions.

A mechanism that works well
Furthermore, the platform provides effective price mechanisms with total transparency by utilizing market connections and integrating market participants such as farmers, FPOs, government agencies, corporates, merchants, and processors, according to NBHC.
‘With population density nearing 50% and the number of mobile interactions approximately equal to 79% of the population in India, trading in agricultural commodities is primed and ready for a jump to the new digital age marked by ease and mobility,’ said Ramesh Doraiswami, Managing Director & CEO, NBHC.
He further added said ‘NBHC intends to establish ‘Krishi Setu’ an Amazon-like e-market platform for agri-commodities, enabling farmers and FPOs to make educated decisions on marketing their produce by offering market access, transparency, and post-harvest value-added services.’
‘Krishi Setu’ provides services for a wide range of commodities, including grains, pulses, cereals, oilseeds, and spices, across numerous locations, thanks to NBHC’s pan-India reach, deep industry expertise, and tech-enabled operating skills. The platform is available via the Google Play Store, QR code scanning, and the website.
‘Through its modern facilities that mix farming, automation, and digitalization, Krishna Setu is poised to make a difference in the agro value chain. This platform provides custom-tailored solutions for process-driven risk assessment and mitigation, as well as a digital financing option.’
