“Pesticide misuse is common among farmers due to a lack of information. “We must address this,” Chouhan stated, emphasizing the importance of quickly transferring scientific benefits to farmers.
‘Kisan Ki Baat’ is a component of a larger strategy to revitalize India’s agricultural sector. Chouhan emphasized the importance of connecting Krishi Vigyan Kendras to farmers’ needs and encouraging discussions among agriculturists.
“Our goal is to transform India into a world food basket,” the minister stated during an Independence Day event attended by farmers. He also used this occasion to launch the National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS).
Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prioritizing farmers, pointing out that previous governments had failed to invite them to Independence Day celebrations. The event was also attended by Ministers of State for Agriculture Ram Nath Thakur and Bhagirath Chaudhary, as well as ICAR Director General Himanshu Pathak.
