Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a crop loan interest waiver

During the Winter Session of the State Assembly on Friday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a crop loan interest waiver. He stated that the government will waive the interest if farmers repay the principal amount.

Climate change a major challenge for farmers in eight countries: survey

Siddaramaiah stated that this move would benefit farmers in North Karnataka the most. The BJP had asked for a crop loan waiver of up to 2 lakh rupees.
