Farmers hold rallies at Jantar Mantar, demanding legal guarantee for MSP
Farmers from the All India Kisan Congress gathered at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Friday to ask for a legal guarantee for MSP and compensation for the families of farmers who were killed in protests against the Centre’s three farm laws last year.
The Congress unit for farmers also said that the central government, which was led by the BJP, did not work with farmers and broke promises it made to them. As a result, the year-long protest at Delhi’s borders was stopped. In November of last year, Parliament got rid of the controversial farm laws.

Hargobind Singh Tiwar, a joint coordinator of the AIKC, told PTI, ‘Central government is not helping farmers or addressing their problems. It’s been more than a year since the anti-farm laws protest ended, but the government hasn’t kept its promise to make sure farmers get MSP.’
‘The centre should pay out the compensation right away to the families of the farmers who died fighting for their rights. The fact that the centre doesn’t even have a list of the farmers who died is sad. How are they even going to pay out the money? ‘He said.
The minimum support price (MSP) scheme should be put into place as soon as possible. He was sad that the country still didn’t have a good law for farmers that would help them right away.
