Mrs. Thakur while delivering her remarks additionally informed that the Centre under National Food Security mission invested Rs 300 crore as subsidy to the farmers to produce extra quantity and high quality rice.

She additionally conveyed that Rs. 500 crore have been given to Eastern India as a part of BGREI (Bringing Green Revolution to Eastern India). She added that government is giving thrust on bio-fortified products and 10% of annual funds is kept apart for bigger distribution.
While speaking about export and worldwide market, Mrs. Thakur acknowledged that Brand India in rice must be promoted outside India for its distinctive taste and high quality.
Professor Swapan Kumar Datta, agri scientist and former deputy director general (Crop Science), ICAR talked about that despite Covid, India has managed to extend production of rice within the last months. He mentioned that value addition, adoption of latest science and technologies, seamless connectivity and efficient supply chain shall stay crucial for the expansion of the sector.
