Agri graduates eligible for grant funding to purchase drones, dedicated six fruits, vegetables to the country

Agriculture graduates are eligible for grant funding to purchase the drones, said the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar while dedicating six species of fruits and vegetables to the country.

The six fruit and vegetable varieties include two mango varieties, ‘Pusa Lalima’ and ‘Pusa Shresth,’ brinjal variety ‘Pusa Vaibhav,’ palak (spinach) variant ‘Pusavilayati palak,’ cucumber variety ‘Pusa Gynoecious Cucumber Hybrid-18,’ and rose variety ‘Pusa Alpana.’

Tomar presented the six fruit and vegetable types to the country during a ceremony held to present prizes and degrees to the 284 students of the ICAR-Indian Agriculture Research Institute’s Postgraduate School, which included eight international students.

In his address to the audience, Tomar urged all agricultural colleges to focus on developing excellent farmers. ‘It is commendable that institutes produce exceptionally excellent instructors and scientists. As a result, knowledge, and technology are restricted to institutes solely. If institutes create farmers, they will be able to spread this information to the grassroots level’ He stated.

He also encouraged the youngsters to pursue business and to consider farming as a career. Tomar emphasized the government’s priority in agricultural research, stating that India is among the top ten Agri product exporting countries under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

He also stated that agriculture graduates are eligible for grant funding for drone purchases. The Minister recommended the new graduates view this as a tremendous opportunity in the realm of drone technology.

He praised the institute’s substantial contributions to guaranteeing food and nutritional security via the creation of improved agricultural varieties and technology.
