Poultry farms in Namakkal of Kerala instill carful steps to protect from Bird Flu

In the midst of reports of bird flu moving through Kerala and different states of the country, owners of poultry farming in Namakkal of Kerala, which is one of the the biggest center for poultry products, have increased determination to impart certainty about their farm operations.

“The seasonal virus in this year has appeared among ducks and flying creatures like crows. There is no effect on chicken flocks so far,” Vangili Subramaniam, Managing Partner of the Namakkal-based ‘Vangili Feeds‘, said

Calling attention to that many crows have passed on in Madhya Pradesh, he said the authorities are checking for winged animal influenza. In Kerala, numerous ducks were influenced, not chicken, he said. ” We take careful steps consistently. Going above and beyond, we guarantee that there are no trees in the poultry cultivates so no wild fowls come from outside,” he added.

At most preventive actions

Concurring with Subramanian, NK Saravanakumar of KL Poultry Farm, Namakkal, said that the farms in Namakkal are very much overseen and dealt with consistently. The feathered creatures are given quality feeds and immunized consistently. “At most preventive actions have been taken and assuring that the wild winged animals don’t draw close to the poultry farms as they are the greatest carrier of seasonal influenza,” he mentioned. “We also have a veterinary care center in Namakkal and authorities have been regularly observing the farms,” he told.

Namakkal has more than 1,000 egg farms and around three crore eggs are delivered each day. Almost one lakh eggs and around 50,000 chickens are provided to Kerala from Namakkal, said a source.

Demand may affect

As per R Vangili of Vangili Transport, Namakkal, all the trucks that transport poultry from and to Namakkal are completely sanitized at State borders. “Till now, the logistic business has not been affected because of the announced influenza. Be that as it may, in the event that it spreads, the interest for poultry products could lessen, and thus could influence the demand for logistic system, he added.
