‘ICRISAT has over five decades of experience assisting other nations in making agriculture simple and sustainable. Today, I am hopeful that they will continue to contribute their expertise to the development of India’s ‘Krishi’ sector’ Modi stated.

Further PM Modi added that ‘To save our farmers from climate change, we are focusing on a combination of going back to basics and marching forward to the future. Our primary focus is on the more than 80% of the country’s small farmers, who require the most assistance. Natural farming and digital agriculture are the main focus of the Union Budget 2022-23.

However, PM Modi’s visit was marred by controversy because Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was not at the airport to invite him. The development follows the chief minister’s outburst in response to the Union Budget. KCR had urged people to toss the Modi government into the Bay of Bengal.
