Agricultural loans for farmers have been increased 2.5 times in the last seven years, according to the Prime Minister, who also stated that the union budget, which was presented on February 1, will provide a significant boost to modernize agriculture and promote natural farming, with a special emphasis on agri-waste management.

The government’s goal, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is to increase farmer income, cut farming costs, and link farmers to markets. He urged the corporate, technology industry, financial, and start-up sectors to work with the government to implement Budget proposals for farmers before the start of the new agricultural year this year.

When it comes to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi plan, it has become a significant support system for the country’s small farmers. He was presented during a webcast on the Smart Agriculture Budget Initiative. ‘Today, this plan has become a significant source of assistance for small farmers. So far, around ₹ 2 lakh crore has been distributed to 11 crore farmers under this scheme,’ he added.

The plan provides qualifying farmers with a monetary benefit of ₹ 6000 per year in three equal installments of ₹ 2000 each.

The government’s efforts to promote organic products have contributed to the organic product industry reaching ₹ 11,000 crore. In six years, the number of organic goods increased from ₹2000 crore to ₹7000 crore or more. ‘This year’s budget is a continuation of prior years’ efforts,’ he explained.

The market for such items is growing as people become more concerned about their health and the environment. Organic and natural farming can assist in gaining this market. ‘Vocal for local is equally vital in this area,’ he says.

He urged the business sector, start-ups, and financial sector to assist farmers with soil testing, agro waste management and packaging, post-harvest waste management, packaging, linking farmers to markets, storage, and so on.
