New Holland Agriculture enters Indian small tractor segment debuts in Karnataka.

With the introduction of the Blue Series SIMBA, New Holland Agriculture, a brand of CNH Industrial, has joined the sub-30 HP small tractor segment.

The tractor, which is part of the company’s Blue Series line, is intended for specialized applications such as spraying, rotavation, and inter-row cultivation in vineyards, orchards, sugarcane fields, and cotton fields, among others.

‘We are pleased to enter this new sub-30 HP tractor category. As a firm, we strive to provide our customers with a broad range of farm equipment and mechanization solutions. With the Blue Series SIMBA, we are now offering a range of compact tractors for specialized applications to our customers,’ said Raunak Varma, Managing Director and Country Head, CNH Industrial – India and SAARC.

The compact sector accounts for around 10% of the total tractor industry in India. Around 90,000 of the 9 lakh tractors sold in the country last year were in the tiny sector with less than 30 horsepower. ‘Based on supplies, we expect to sell 500-600 sub-30 HP tractors this year and ramp up to 2,000-3,000 units next year,’ Varma said.

The sub-30 HP tractor was created at New Holland’s India development centre and is priced above the segment average. The Blue Series SIMBA 30 is powered by a three-cylinder 29 HP Mitsubishi engine and focuses on improved power and fuel efficiency in the sector.

‘We’re debuting in Karnataka because it’s an important market for us, he explained. Last year, approximately 60,000 tractors were sold in Karnataka, and the market is likely to stay stable this year. The compact sector in Karnataka is roughly 10,000 units, and we are pleased to offer it here,’ Varma added.

New Holland is launching its sub-30 HP tractors first in Maharashtra and Karnataka, with intentions to expand into additional regions soon, according to Varma.
