Matsyafed to expand its online fish shop venture across Kerala

Ensuring supply of fresh fish to the consumers, the Kerala State Cooperative Federation for Fisheries Development (Matsyafed) is ready to expand its online fish sales across Kerala State.

The service was initially launched in states capital city Thiruvananthapuram in first week of November 2020.   It introduced in market place under the brand name “Matsyafed Freshmeeen”.  The main objective of this venture is to reach the fresh and best quality fish to the customers and to ensure the sustainable livelihood  income for the fishing community across the costal belt of the state, officials said.

Enhancing the Technology platform

Most demanding and anytime favourite fishes such as sardines, mackerel, tuna, anchovy, and king fish will be show cased and made available through SMS, website or through app. Customers can place an orders through www.matsyafedfreshmeen.com. This useful application for “Matsyafed Freshmeen” can be downloaded from Google Play store.

Matsyafed has already been selling fresh fishes from its existing  67 outlets  and 6 mobile units under the brand name of  “Anthipacha” across the state.

The main idea this initiative is to ensure meeting the demand of high-quality fish in hygiene conditions. The federation has also engaged in online sale of few value-added products such as fish pickles, cutlets, curry.
