I was lured for President or Vice President’s post, that if I remained silent: Governor Malik.

Satya Pal Malik, the governor of Meghalaya, lashed out at the Modi government on Monday. Taking a jab at PM Modi, Malik stated that the BJP government had enticed him to become President and that if he remained silent, he would be appointed President.

According to the news agency PTI, Malik stated ‘Some of my friends had advised me that I should keep quiet because I could become President or Vice President. However, I informed them that I was uninterested and don’t care about these positions.’

Malik also accused the central government of failing to keep promises made to farmers following the repeal of three agricultural laws. He stated that my term as governor would end in six to seven months. Following that, I will launch an outreach campaign to bring all of North India’s farmers together.’

I’ll be touring the northern states soon to rally farmers and encourage them to form their own government in Delhi. Though the Prime Minister accepted some of their demands, many issues remain unresolved Malik stated on Sunday. According to news agency ANI,

‘The time has come to change the government. Come together and form your own government,’ He continued.

Malik, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader, has been skeptical of agricultural reforms. ‘We have lost more than 700 farmers and the Prime Minister, who used to send a letter on the death of a bitch, did not even speak a single word to condole their death,’ Malik added in a stinging attack on the government.

‘The Union Government has failed to provide a legal guarantee on the Minimum Support Price (MSP) because the Prime Minister’s friend, who built a godown on 50 acres of land in Panipat before the three farm laws were introduced, wants to buy wheat at lower prices and sell it at higher prices, and this is a battle between farmers and the government,’ he stated.
