GKVK, Agri Marketing dept. to host Agri-Business Innovation Day (ABID)

Agri-Business Innovation Day (ABID) is an Innovation exhibition that will be hosted on 14th May 2022 by the Department of Agricultural Marketing, Co-operation and Business Management, University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore, that lays a platform for students to exhibit their knowledge, skills, and business acumen in areas of Agri marketing, agritech, digital marketing, etc.

The event mainly aims at developing new-age innovations pertaining to Agribusiness in India, by solving some of the pressing problems in the agriculture industry. The event also emphasizes building and nurturing entrepreneurship skills and mindset among the student participants by involving the student community in a variety of startup-related events like pitching, mock startups, panel discussion, and fireside chats with emerging entrepreneurs during the event.

ABID-2021

ABID-2021 was conducted on the last day of Agricultural Industrial Attachment (AIA) of final year B. Sc. (Hons.) AgMaco students and the event fell on the 3rd of April 2021.

The event was lightened up with a brand launch of ‘Gruitables’ by Dr.RajendraPrasad, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, Shri. C. M. Patil, CEO, Krishi Kalpa, and Dr. L. Savithramma, Dean (Agri.), College of Agriculture, GKVK, Bangalore.

ABID 2.0 – 2022

This year the event is going to be much more vibrant with the theme “Agribusiness Call to Action – Addressing SDG”
Sustainable Development Goals are 17 goals that are being identified by UNDP that our world should accomplish by 2030 in order to avoid us from reaching the tipping points of environmental disasters.

‘As a pre-event for ABID-2022, (Agri-Business Innovation Day) students have conducted a marathon on the 8th of May, Sunday. many students, localities, and faculty took part in the marathon.’

ABID 2.0 is aimed at addressing each of these SDGs through our Agribusiness innovations, devised by the students of Final year and third year BSc. (Hons) Ag. Maco. This edition of ABID is not just for innovation but innovation for a cause. “So if not now, when? And if not us, who?” ABID 2.0

Expected Audience – 2000+ Students Community, 500+ local participants, 100+ Scientists and faculties, 1000+ Visitors from other colleges, incubation centers, and institutions.
