For the first time in Bengaluru, Union Govt will host all states’ Agri ministers meet.

On July 14 and 15, the Union government will host a gathering of all state agriculture ministers in Bengaluru for the first time. The two-day meeting will feature 30 state agriculture ministers, as well as Union Agriculture Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Shobha kharandlaje, and will focus on attempts to double farmers’ income and share best practices among states.

The event is being organized by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, and it will include a series of conversations on various farming concerns.

State Agriculture Minister BC Patil told that there was a debate about whether the meet should be held in Karnataka or Rajasthan and that the ministry ultimately chose Karnataka because the state has introduced many novel initiatives, such as the Vidyanidhi scheme for farmers’ children and others.

Patil also stated that they are working on tripling farmers’ income, which has been prioritized by both the Union and state governments.

‘In fact, in Karnataka, the government has established a department solely dedicated to raising farmer revenue. There are best practices in other states as well, which will be discussed at the meeting. We can share ideas that will benefit the farming industry as a whole,’ he continued.

According to Agriculture Department sources, the Union government’s agriculture budget has increased five to six times in the last eight years. The state government has boosted its financial allotment as well.
