Five CIFT-supported start-ups have been chosen to exhibit at the Agri-Startup Conclave 2022.

Five new innovative and technology-enabled commercial businesses have been selected to exhibit at the Agri-Startup Conclave 2022 by the Agribusiness Incubation (ABI) Centre at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the one to open the New Delhi conference on October 17.

Since 2009, CIFT’s entrepreneurial support system has helped more than 150 businesses with a variety of scientific, technical, managerial, and administrative services.

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare chose and invited five entrepreneurs who used CIFT technology to start new and successful businesses to the ‘Badalta Krishi Paridrishya Aur Takneek’ conclave and Kisan Sammelan in New Delhi.

The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is putting on a two-day event, which will give start-ups a chance to connect with stakeholders, sell their technologies, talk to investors, and ask for money.

The five shortlisted start-ups are: Bodina Naturals, founded by Bobby Kizhakkethara, which produces seaweed-based herbal gargles with anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties and fucoidan-based Zafora 360 capsules; Zaara Biotech, founded by Najeeb Bin Haneef, which produces algae and seaweed-based FMCG products; Foo Foods India, founded by Mohammed Fawas, which produces ready-to-cook mussels using retort technology; Zarin Gourmet, founded by three student entrepreneurs, Saurav, Rifat, and Faaiz, built an all-India supply system for homegrown Kashmiri trout; and Sundar Raj founded Zcorp Organic, which manufactures seaweed-based functional meals to combat malnutrition and lifestyle disorders.

A news release says that the CIFT Incubation Centre has invited more entrepreneurs to the conclave than any other ICAR institute.
