Cholesterol too high - Fruits that are good and can help lower bad cholesterol

Is cholesterol too high? Fruits are good and can help lower bad cholesterol.

Bad cholesterol, or low-density lipoprotein (LDL), can build up in your blood if you eat the wrong things. If you have high cholesterol, eating fatty foods, drinking alcohol, and not moving around can be a deadly combination that can lead to obesity and increase your chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

Not all cholesterol is bad, and our bodies need high-density lipoprotein (HDL), which is good cholesterol, to do important things. The liver makes all of the cholesterol that your body needs. Bad cholesterol is found in red meat, processed meat, and fried foods. To get good cholesterol, you should eat ghee, eggs, and cheese. ‘There are a few fruits that can help keep the body’s high cholesterol levels in check. Heart diseases like heart stroke, artery blockage, heart attack, and other heart problems can be prevented by eating fruits that are high in soluble fibre’ says Sonia Bakshi, the founder of DtF and a nutritionist.

The nutritionist recommends six fruits to lower cholesterol.

1. Apple

People think that apples are one of the best fruits for lowering cholesterol. Apples have a lot of soluble fibre, which is good for the health of our hearts. Polyphenols, which are found in apples, can help lower our cholesterol levels.

2. Banana

Bananas can lower cholesterol and blood pressure because they have fibre and potassium. Bananas are known for being a good source of soluble fibre, which helps keep the body healthy and the immune system strong.

3. Grapes

Grapes get into the bloodstream and carry all the bad cholesterol to the liver, where it is processed.

4. Berries

Blackberries and strawberries have been shown to lower the body’s cholesterol levels. They stop the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, which is thought to be a major risk factor for heart disease.

5. Pineapple

Pineapple has a lot of vitamins, minerals, and other good things for you. Bromelain, which is found in pineapple, breaks up cholesterol deposits in the arteries. This keeps blood flowing well and lowers the risk of heart disease.

6. Avocados

They have a lot of oleic acids, which help reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in the blood. Avocados can be used in a lot of different ways, like salads, sandwiches, toast, smoothies, and more.
